Malayalam GEC Flowers TV to go pay from 1 Apr

MUMBAI: Malayalam GEC Flowers TV, which is owned and operated by Suryansh Broadcasting, is all set to go pay from 1 April. The channel will be available at Rs 5.15 on reference interconnect (RIO) basis.
“Suryansh Broadcasting Private Limited as the Broadcaster of the General Entertainment Satellite Television Channel “Flowers”, hereby inform the subscribers of this channel and the public in general that, with effect from 01 st April 2018, the said channel shall be offered as a Pay Channel at the rate of Rs. 5.15/- (Rupees Five and Fifteen Paise only) per subscriber to all distribution platform/ operators across India,” the broadcaster said in a public notice.
Flowers TV launched on 12 April 2015 as free to air (FTA) offering. In order to reach out to the Malayali diaspora globally, the company launched Flowers International within 10 months.
In a market dominated by Asianet, Surya TV, and Mazhavil Manorama, Flowers TV entered the top 5 position in the GEC ladder within no time of its launch. The channel shot to fame with reality shows like Star Challenge, Smart Show, Comedy Super Nite, and Indian Music League. It also offers fiction shows, movies, and music.
